Update 0.3.365 - Water!
This week's update brings water to Green Again. Before this update the impassable tiles between solid areas were tar hexes but they weren't too appealing and several testers still called them "water tiles". To make the concept of water fit the desert setting players still start with dry river and lake beds which gradually become blue as they progress with terraforming.
Besides looking better, water opens some new possibilities for the future such as water structures, water crops and rain (when enough water is present on the map). No promises here but I'll try to add at least some of these to the game eventually.
Water was this update's major feature but all the other tile colors got a bit of overhaul and several bugs related to building have been fixed. Enjoy!

Aww... I liked the tar pits... it made sense to me that all that organic life that the AI destroyed had to end up somewhere and life has a lot of carbon in it! But I can understand the reasoning... maybe instead of desert and dry river beds, start with the tar and shift to water as the plants leach the carbon out to grow! :D
Hmm, the tar pits might make a return :D I'm considering adding them as another variation of environmental hazard (there would be several different ones). I just didn't want to continue with whole maps surrounded by tar rivers and lakes ;)
Fair enough - I figured it would be rude to potentially be asking for a whole host of extra features by asking for different maps with different themes! ;) But this solution sounds good to me :D
Feature requests are always welcome, either here or on Discord! I'm keeping a huge idea list and while all of that won't make it into the game (mostly to avoid huge scope as I'm making this in solo dev mode :)) some recommendations will surely be implemented!
Noted... does using the ingame report bug make things easier? Discord is not always easy for me to use is all... technical issues I expect but getting support for weird problems at this stage of _its_ life is difficult, especially with it still changing so much *sigh*
Sure, you can use the ingame feedback form (although there's been an occasion when it got stuck while sending the message so I'll have to look at that). Or you can even send an email to greenagain [at] mattsnippets [dot] com with your ideas. Whichever you prefer :)
